HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death among adults in Guyana and one of the top killers of children under 5. AIDS orphans and children living with the disease have nowhere to turn for help; they are shunned because of the stigma surrounding AIDS, even if they don’t have it themselves. Ruimveldt Children’s Home & Care Center (RCHCC) offers a safe haven to some of these children, providing them with the love and care they desperately need. The 16 children living at RCHCC receive three nutritious meals a day, specialized medical care, and education. They are also shown the love of Christ through daily Bible study. With $39,600 Cross will be able to provide food, shelter, medicine, and care to the children living at RCHCC for a whole year.
