Outreach to Latin America

A region rich with tradition and culture, Latin America is also a region where vast portions of the population live below the poverty line. Large scale unemployment and underemployment plague families trying to survive, many on $2/day—or much less. Areas with scarce food and medical care suffer devastating rates of infant and child mortality; and in areas with low literacy, the struggle to break out of poverty is tough.
To help the poor, Cross International partners with ministries throughout Latin America. They are led by Christians—clergy and laypersons alike—with a heart to help needy people in their own communities. With love and prayer, these faithful servants do amazing work with very little; but they could do so much more with additional resources. So, through the support of Cross donors, we provide the resources they need to provide food, housing, healthcare, education and employment opportunities to "the poorest of the poor."
Please keep the poor of Latin America in your prayers. Pray also for the caring Christians who work with the hungry, the orphaned, the widowed and the poor in their communities. Their compassion demonstrates Christ's love for all mankind. And as the Lord places it on your heart, consider joining their efforts by donating to help the poor in Latin America.
