Position Title:Volunteer Coordinator, Box of Joy Program
Department: Box of Joy
Reports to: Director of the Box of Joy ministry
Collaborates closely with: Box of Joy Logistics Manager

Education Requirements: Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience Requirements: One to three years large-scale volunteer management experience required. Personal experience as a volunteer, preferably in a Christian ministry environment.

Position Summary: The Volunteer Coordinator will assist in the recruitment, selection, placement, supervision, and recognition/retention of volunteers to engage in ministry for the “Box of Joy” ministry, as well as other programs of Cross Catholic Outreach. The position will liaise with various departments and requires a high level of professionalism. The position requires strong people skills, written and verbal communications skills, detail orientation, leadership abilities, organization, and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. The position is based in the Boca Raton FL office; however, several weeks of the year, work will be performed from the Miami warehouse location. Travel required.

  •  •  Ability to apply organizational skills when given a project; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

  •  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort, energy and poise in public speaking.
  •  •  Self-starter who takes initiative on reaching and exceeding goals.
  •  •  Proficient knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher.
  •  •  Ability to travel as needed.
  •  •  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  •  •  Active U.S. passport.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  •  •  Contribute to the overall volunteer strategy and plan of the Box of Joy ministry, with integration with other programs.
  •  •  Recruitment, selection, placement, training, supervision, and recognition/retention of short-term and long-term volunteers.
  •  •  Contribute to policies and procedures for volunteer activities.
  •  •  Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, CRM notes, and all volunteer data.
  •  •  Prepare for and supervise all volunteer activities at the national “processing center” (Miami warehouse) during processing season to ensure production objectives, as well as a safe and meaningful experience for volunteer workers.
  •  •  Provide high level of supervision and coaching to volunteer team leaders.
  •  •  Contribute to Program Team’s strategic plans and initiatives to accomplish measureable goals.
  •  •  Travel as required, throughout USA as well as potential international trips.
Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation:
  •  •  Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to achieve goals; provide accurate and timely pipeline reports.
  •  •  Participate in budget development and goal setting.
  •  •  Work closely with IT Team to develop efficient systems for data entry of paper forms and online data collection with the goal of eliminating manual data entry.
  •  •  Work closely with Marketing and Communications Team for effective implementation of mass communications with volunteers and prospective volunteers.
  •  •  Constructively share feedback to improve processes and strategies.
  •  •  Uphold process protocols for organization and department related to donor records and accurate documentation of all interactions with donors.
  •  •  Other duties as assigned.
