Hurricane Helene has torn a swath of destruction across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee leaving hundreds dead, and many more stranded, cut off from food, water, and shelter. And Hurricane Milton just caused major damage across central Florida.

As the body of Christ, we are called to help our friends and neighbors in their time of need. In Galatians, the Apostle Paul exhorts us to “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ,” (Galatians 6:2).

Cross is now working on the ground with the local church to bring food, water, fuel, and other critical relief supplies to Hurricane Helene victims in greatest need in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. Many of these communities may be without power for months to come, and as winter approaches, the time is now to make sure that disaster victims have the blankets, heaters, and other cold-weather supplies they need to survive the falling temperatures.

We’re also assessing the damage from Hurricane Milton and determining the best way to respond.
