Position Summary:

In the position of Cross International’s GIK Manager, you are a key member of the Programs Department that will work jointly with your colleagues, donors, and closely with CI’s international ministry partners to develop program-based Gifts-In-Kind processes that provide support to Cross International’s global ministry partners. This position will have considerable influence in structuring Cross International’s Gifts-in-Kind programming in Latin America, the Caribbean, and in Africa.

Your work will have an immense influence on Cross International’s growth and impact with many of the world’s most vulnerable people over the coming years.

As the Gifts-In-Kind Manager, you will work closely with the entire International Programs team. International travel will be required to meet with local CI partners to assess efficient and effective use of Cross International procured GIK that focuses on the end beneficiary. The GIK Manager will have the responsibility to build on and expand Cross International’s strategic relationships with GIK vendors, identify and procure US-based donations, establish warehouse space, engage in annual strategy, planning and budgeting. Additionally, this position will be responsible to oversee all Cross International’s GIK through the entire supply chain while maintaining audit compliance.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, energetic person of Christian faith and can effectively communicate the mission of Cross International to companies with resources that can be used to support global hunger relief, medical, and disaster response programs. You are intent to complete projects on time, and you have a passion to serve the world’s most vulnerable populations with compassion and respect. You also understand the contemporary influences within North American evangelical churches and the worldwide Church at large.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required/Preferred:

Essential Responsibilities:

Develops and directs all aspects of Cross International’s Gifts-In-Kind programming
Develops and expands strategic relationships with multiple food and medical vendors to support global GIK programming efforts for CI
Develops Cross International policies and processes for GIK in supplying program based GIK support to global partners
Meet or exceed annual Gift-In-Kind (GIK) goals (revenue, expense controls, shipment and report documentation)
Adheres to principles, ACCORD Network GIK Standards, and Cross International auditor standards.
Recruit, evaluate, assess, and recommend potential GIK Implementing Partners for approval by the Vice President of International Programs
Expand Cross International’s global GIK partnerships with a strategic focus in Eastern and Southern Africa
Develops Cross International’s GIK processes for GIK pre-positioning for disaster relief efforts
Collaborate with the VP of Programs to identify and maintain US Warehouse Capacity for CI GIK products
Serves as GIK liaison with ACCORD Network GIK committee and GIK partners
Proven ability to maintain an elevated level of service to existing accounts while also prospecting for, and establishing new, donation outlets
Demonstrated ability to perform at the highest level of corporate engagement
Excellent oral, written, and corporate-level presentation skills with ability to persuasively articulate the mission of CI
Strong ability to meet truckload GIK quantity goals through planning, organizing, and evaluating program effectiveness
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with ability to establish professional rapport with all levels of Cross International staff and CI donors
Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to travel at least once a month

Education or Certification Requirements:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, business management, international development, non-profit administration, or other related fields.

General Requirements:

Strong experience managing corporate accounts for meeting and exceeding sales, funding, or gifts-in-kind (GIK) goals
A successful history in securing resources, business opportunities and strategic partnerships
At least three years’ experience in in-kind fundraising from corporations, foundations and/or individuals
Knowledge of in-kind accounting standards and standards for in-kind giving in global humanitarian and international development contexts
Knowledge of basic financial practices and supply chain operations in international development and humanitarian settings
Displays consistent servant-leadership behavior
Negotiates with wisdom and discernment in demanding situations
Shows sensitivity to personal security issues for international travel
Communicates regularly and clearly with others within and outside of Cross International with tact and diplomacy
A person of Christian faith and active member/attender of a local Christian church and is a contributing part of a local body of believers
Has a deep desire, a calling, to serve the world’s most vulnerable people
Thrives and can perform in a changing organizational environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive manuals and reports
Is a person who has a sense of humor and enjoys co-workers
Can be based in South Florida or remote within the United States
Ability to work from effectively remotely from a home office as needed, with travel to CI headquarters on a regular basis (i.e., weekly, or quarterly, as current travel policy and office conditions allow in relations to COVID-19 and where you are based)
Frequent international travel (25%) to project sites. (All travel is dependent on CI current travel policy and in relation to COVID-19)
