As we share our mission and offer opportunities to help the poor, Cross International may collect contact information to supply resources, tax receipts or develop other streams of communication. This may include obtaining a record of your name, address, email, phone numbers and gift information. We do this in the most secure ways possible – on our Internet website, for example, this includes using a secure form. Credit card numbers and other sensitive financial information are only used for the processing of the intended gift and are destroyed following this use.
Whether your information is obtained via the Internet, over a phone connection or through a printed piece, Cross International treats your name, address, phone number and email address as confidential information and does not rent, sell or give it to any other charity, business or organization.
If you provide your address, phone number or email address (by signing up for newsletters, SMS text messages, etc.), you may be contacted to resolve a customer service issue or you may receive information about the ministry and its programs from time to time. You will always have the option to remove your address, phone number or email address by contacting our ministry using our toll-free phone number (800-391-8545) or by making a request to Info@CrossInternational.org.
On occasion, we may request information (email address, a variety of demographic information and/or the answers to practical questions) from visitors for survey purposes. We may use this collected information to better serve our constituents. The visitor’s contact information may also be used to contact the visitor if necessary. A user may opt-out anytime (see the “opt-out” section below).
This Internet site or the web servers hosting the Cross International site may also utilize a program commonly called a cookie to track activity within our site and/or to record the IP address of visitors. If and when this type of program is used, it is simply to monitor general activity on the site, to improve the site design or to enhance the site by allowing you to take part in special member services. It is never used to collect personal information about you or your visits.
As with most other Internet sites, our web servers utilize “cookies” to track a user’s activity within our site as well as record the IP address of each visitor to this site. A cookie is a small data file that is stored on your computer. A cookie contains a unique identifying feature that allows our computer to recognize you when you return to the Cross International site. The recorded IP address tells us which domain you visited from (for instance, yahoo.com), but not your email address or other private and personal information. We use the information we record to help diagnose problems with our servers, to administer this website more effectively, and to gather broad demographic information about what countries and domains our visitors come from and their behavior on our site.
To allow you to interact with third-party websites on which you may have accounts (such as social media websites) or join communities on such websites, we may provide links or embed third-party applications that allow you to login, post content, or join communities from our websites. We may also provide you with general links to third-party web sites. Your use of these links and applications is subject to the third-parties’ privacy policies, and you should become familiar with the third-parties’ privacy policies before using the links or applications.
Cross International is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those third-party websites.
We view your donation made to Cross International not as corporate income, but as your personal gift to God for the poor. Should you have a concern about how your gift is used, or experience a rare problem in processing your donation, we will be happy to address your questions and take every reasonable measure to rectify any problem that may have occurred. Should you still wish to retract your gift, simply contact us at 1-800-391-8545 and we will return it to you in full.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR COMMUNICATION
Cross International makes every effort to prevent unauthorized access to the data it collects, implementing security protocols for the handling of cash and checks, and using physical and software precautions for the collection, transfer and use of sensitive data. On the Internet, for example, our website protects your personal information through the use of securely encrypted contribution response forms for donors who choose to use these forms to provide information, request information, and make donations.
We collect your willingly submitted contact information (such as your email address) and financial information (such as a credit card type, number, and expiration date) for several purposes. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the donor for donations pledged. Contact information from these response forms is used to process donations, provide receipts and other information about Cross International to our donors. The donor's contact information is also used to get in touch with the donor when necessary in order to resolve customer service issues or questions.
Donors may opt-out of receiving future communications from Cross International at any time. You may make this arrangement at any time by contacting the ministry using our toll-free phone number (800-391-8545) or by making a request to Info@CrossInternational.org.
