At just 4 months old, baby Mayquin was wasting away. In his family’s tiny home in Guatemala, his hungry cries pierced the night as his mother Suyapa’s heart broke — there was simply no food to give him. With five children to feed on his father Joel’s $5 daily farm wages, the family was desperate.

Mayquin was down to skin and bones, suffering from acute malnutrition. Without immediate help, this precious baby would not survive.

Thanks to caring friends like you, we were able to rush Mayquin to our Nutritional Recovery Center in Guatemala. For one month, he received intensive medical care and therapeutic nutrition, surrounded by loving staff who nursed him back to health.

Today, at 5 months old, Mayquin is a healthy 13 pounds and back home with his family, continuing his recovery with special nutritional formula and regular checkups.

But many babies like Mayquin are still fighting for survival in vulnerable communities across Africa and Latin America.

Your generous gift will be used to support the Cross International project(s) indicated through June 30, 2025, the close of our ministry’s fiscal year. In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the initiative, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry and may be used in the following fiscal year.
