You may have never been to Northern Uganda, but if you’d see a place still shadowed by a painful past. It’s where children like Sabella are growing up today, and their futures are hanging by a thread.

That’s why your compassion is urgently needed.

In the middle of a very difficult life, Sabella found a source of strength in our Power Truth discipleship program. Since joining, she’s transformed from a quiet child to a leader who joyfully helps her family and friends.

You may have never been to Northern Uganda, but if you had, you’d see a place still shadowed by a painful past. A generation ago, children here were kidnapped by a brutal rebel army. Today, it’s their sons and daughters who are growing up in the aftermath, and their futures are still hanging by a thread. This is why your compassion is urgently needed.

This is a place where childhood itself was stolen — and where we are deeply called to serve. Because when children suffer, we must bring them relief, hope, and the Gospel of Jesus. That’s why we’re here to tell you about 11-year-old Sabella, a little girl who is a light in her community.

Sabella’s mother dreams of something better for her daughter. She does everything she can to keep Sabella in school—because she believes her daughter could break the cycle of poverty. She’s holding onto that hope with everything she has.

But imagine that being your only hope for your child.

Fortunately, in the middle of a very difficult life, Sabella has found a source of strength. She found the Power Truth discipleship program. In the middle of the dust and hardship, the Power Truth team gathers children together to sing, learn Bible stories, and discover the love of Jesus.

"I now pray every day," Sabella says. "I’ve learned how to love my friends and share what I have — just like in the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000."

Once resistant to helping at home, Sabella now joyfully supports her family — thanks to the spiritual guidance she receives through Power Truth

Since joining the program, Sabella has transformed from a quiet child into a leader. She helps with chores, encourages her friends, and leads prayers during weekly gatherings. Her mother has seen a great change in her life.

Your gift today helps children like Sabella move from fear to faith — and helps entire communities remember what it means to hope again.

Please, don’t let this hope fade. Your gift can change a life.

In the most challenging places, hope often comes from the most unlikely sources.

In Northern Uganda, a generation ago, children were kidnapped by a brutal rebel army. Today, it’s their sons and daughters who are growing up in the aftermath, with scars still visible in the eyes of their parents.

Sabella lives with her mother and grandmother near a rock quarry, a place where, in the U.S., machines would mine and crush stone. But here, it’s done by hand. Day after day, Sabella’s mother pounds rocks in the hot sun—just to earn a little money for food. It’s grueling, backbreaking labor, passed down from one generation to the next.

But Sabella’s mother holds onto a dream of something better. She’s doing everything she can to keep her daughter in school—because she believes Sabella could break that cycle.

That’s where the Power Truth discipleship program comes in. Supported by Cross International, Power Truth reaches kids like Sabella with the Gospel, providing spiritual guidance in the middle of all that dust and hardship. Since joining, Sabella has transformed from a child who used to struggle with obedience into a leader in her community.

She now prays every day, and she’s learned how to love her friends and share what she has—just like in the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000.

Sabella helps her mother with chores, draws strength from her grandmother’s stories, and dreams of becoming an engineer. She washes dishes and assists her grandmother, who struggles to walk. In the evenings, she listens to riddles and tales passed down through generations.

The mentors who lead the Power Truth program have become spiritual mentors to her, teaching her how to walk in kindness and courage. “They help us follow Jesus,” Sabella says. “They help us become who God wants us to be.”

Your gift today helps children like Sabella move from fear to faith—and helps entire communities remember what it means to hope again.
